A circularly polarized decagonal slot antenna

2010 International Conference on High Performance Computing & Simulation, 2010
A novel circularly polarized microstrip antenna that incorporates a decagonal slot in the ground plane is presented in this paper. The antenna is based on a 0.762-mm-thick Rogers RO3203 substrate with dimensions 5 cm × 8 cm, and employs a Wilkinson power divider as a feeder.

Circularly polarized optical spatial solitons

Optics Letters, 2005
We present, experimentally and theoretically, a polymer material system that supports optical spatial solitons of circular polarization. We demonstrate one-dimensional circularly polarized dark solitons supported by photoisomerization nonlinearity in a bulk polymer.

Circularly polarized microwave ionization of hydrogen

Physical Review A, 1993
The low-frequency circularly polarized microwave ionization of highly excited states of the hydrogen atom is evaluated applying the adiabatic approximation in the classical limit. The ionization threshold is calculated by matching asymptotically the weak- and strong-field regimes, and the results are compared with numerical integrations of the ...

Development of a circularly polarizing microscope with a polarizing undulator

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1995
A circularly polarizing microscope by which we intend to obtain images with CD (circular dichroism) or CIDS (circular intensity differential scattering) in order to observe the structure and distribution of biomolecules has been constructed by using a polarizing undulator as the polarizing light source.

A novel polarization reconfigurable circularly polarized antenna

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
A novel polarization reconfigurable circularly polarized (CP) antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna is composed of a pair of rectangular loops and two parasitic rectangular loops. Four PIN diodes are soldered on the rectangular loops. By changing the states of the PIN diodes, the operation of the rectangular loops can change between the left ...

Polarization holography using the circularly polarized light

Imaging and Applied Optics 2014, 2014
The characteristics of the polarization holography of the circularly polarized light are studied based on a tensor theory. The reconstruction wave is disappeared when we use the orthogonal reference wave to reconstruct.

A Circularly Polarized Dual-Band Microstrip Antenna

IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Communications and Applied Computational Electromagnetics, 2005., 2005
In this paper, we present a dual-band CP patch antenna based on the branch-line coupler feeding technique. The compactness of the dual-band antenna is obtained by inserting a small high-frequency patch into a large low-frequency one. Both patches are printed on the same upper substrate and electromagnetically fed through two perpendicular slots etched ...

Circularly‐Polarized Optoelectronic Logic Gates

Advanced Materials
Abstract Optoelectronic logic gates, key components in optical computing and optoelectronic integration, are promising for advancing computing performance in the post‐Moore era. Nonetheless, state‐of‐the‐art multifunctional optoelectronic logic gates still depend largely on complex regulation, showing restricted functionality and ...

Properties of circularly polarized vortex beams

Optics Letters, 2006
The properties of circularly polarized vortex beams in cylindrical polarization bases are studied. A circularly polarized vortex beam is decomposed into radial and azimuthal polarization. With the proper combination of vortex charge and the handedness of the circular polarization, a focal field with an extremely strong longitudinal component as well as

Chiral retrieval method based on right circularly polarized and left circularly polarized waves

Measurement Science and Technology, 2014
The free-wave characterization of metamaterials is usually carried out by illuminating a sample with a linearly polarized plane electromagnetic wave. At points before and after the sample, sensors are introduced to measure the transverse components of the field, in order to compute the reflection and transmission coefficients related with the co- and ...
