Uranium Doped Gallium Nitride Epitaxial Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 12, 22 June 2026.
Uranium was controllably added to gallium nitride using molecular beam epitaxy. The uranium atoms segregated into vertically oriented regions with higher doping levels. Concentrations up to a few percent were achieved without showing significant degradation in the crystalline quality or optical characteristics. Low electrical resistivity was maintained

Conformational Landscapes in the Ground and Excited States Dictate Circularly Polarized Excimer Emission: A Thermodynamic–Kinetic Interplay in Carbazole Dimer Systems

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 23, 1 June 2026.
Covalently linked carbazole dimers exhibit intense excimer‐based circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). A simple propylene‐tethered dimer achieves glum ≈ 0.01 in the violet region—among the highest for small organic emitters without heavy atoms. Conformational mapping reveals CPL is governed by thermodynamic/kinetic control of emissive conformers ...

The Path to Future‐Proof Photovoltaics in Europe: Current Status and Impact of Technological Innovation on Reliable and Bankable Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
This article provides an overview of the current state of the art and future improvements in PV technology and explains how changes in the technology and design of individual PV components—at the module level, the balance‐of‐system (BOS) level, or the PV plant level—can affect the reliability, durability, and energy output of a PV system.

Stimuli‐Responsive Hydrogels for Optical Applications: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
The review discusses stimuli‐responsive hydrogels as soft optical materials that translate physical, chemical, and biological cues into refractive‐index, scattering, birefringence, diffraction, and transparency changes. It examines major stimulus classes and photonic architectures for biosensing, waveguiding, adaptive lenses, smart windows, and therapy.

γ‐Cyclodextrin‐Based 2:2 Host–Guest Complexes With Emergent Circularly Polarized Luminescence

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
We elucidate the formation of γ‐cyclodextrin‐mediated 2:2 host–guest complexes through combined NMR, thermodynamic, and kinetic analyses. The process is driven by dimerization and yields discrete assemblies with emergent chiroptical properties via host‐to‐guest chirality transfer.

π‐Extended Chiral Molecular Triangular Prisms Exhibiting Boosted Circularly Polarized Luminescence Upon Self‐Assembly

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
A pair of π‐extended chiral triangular prisms based on pyromellitic diimide is synthesized from enantiopure macrocyclic precursors. They exhibit orange fluorescence and solvent‐dependent self‐assembly, enabling chiroptical inversion and amplification with |glum| values up to 1.15 × 10−2. Single‐crystal structures reveal solvent‐controlled conformations
