Construction optimization and functional applications of fluorescent nanodiamonds

This review summarizes synthesis, surface modification and optical properties of fluorescent nanodiamonds. Their advances in quantum sensing, single‐photon emission and biomedicine are discussed, and existing challenges and future directions are presented.

Rounded Monodisperse Fluorescent Nanodiamonds

Nanodiamond (ND) shape control using rapid molten‐nitrate etching is studied as a scale‐up method for monodispersed rounded particles. Optimal etching condition (567°C for 6 min) yields NDs with atomically stepped surfaces and reduced sp2 content. Photo‐Switched Catalytic Amyloids

Photo‐switched reversible hierarchical assembly of catalytic amyloid fibrils is accomplished by mixing an amphiphilic cross‐ß peptide with a merocyanine photo switch. The peptide monomers, comprising phenylalanine‐lysine repeats, do not self‐assemble in water because of the electrostatic repulsion.

Protein Corona Engineering of Lipid Nanoparticles Enables Efficient Functional Gene Silencing in the Liver

By shaping the protein corona, lipid composition directs LNP tropism and enables the preferential delivery of a TIMP1‐targeting siRNA to liver macrophages. In a murine model of primary biliary cholangitis, this strategy promoted macrophage reprogramming and attenuated liver fibrosis.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.
