CEREBRAL OXYMETRY IN HIGH RISK CARDIAC SURGERY: APPLICABILITY AND PROTOCOL OF THE CLINICAL TRIAL

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2018
Cerebral oxymetry is one of the monitoring techniques aimed at the early detection of changes in the brain state. Currently it is being actively introduced into practice, management algorithms for cerebral oxygenation disorders are being developed basing

Breaking Kelvin: Circulation conservation and vortex breakup in MHD at low Magnetic Prandtl Number

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we examine the role of weak magnetic fields in breaking Kelvin's circulation theorem and in vortex breakup in two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics for the physically important case of a low magnetic Prandtl number (low $Pm$) fluid.

Macroscopic network circulation for planar graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The analysis of networks, aimed at suitably defined functionality, often focuses on partitions into subnetworks that capture desired features. Chief among the relevant concepts is a 2-partition, that underlies the classical Cheeger inequality, and ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

ANALYSIS OF SURVIVAL AND CHANGES IN CLINICAL STATUS OF PATIENTS WITH CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE AFTER ENDOVASCULAR RECANALIZATION OF CHRONIC OCCLUSION OF THE RIGHT CORONARY ARTERY

open access: yesAlʹmanah Kliničeskoj Mediciny, 2016
Background: Procedures performed in chronic coronary artery occlusion comprise from 10 to 20% of all transcutaneous coronary interventions, and their efficacy can amount to 90%.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Quantification of Bronchial Circulation Perfusion in Rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The bronchial circulation is thought to be the primary blood supply for pulmonary carcinomas. Thus, we have developed a method for imaging and quantifying changes in perfusion in the rat lung due to development of the bronchial circulation.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Cardiomyocyte overexpression of microRNA-210 mitigates apoptotic cell death induced by doxorubicin

open access: yesCardio-Oncology
Background Advancements in cancer diagnostics and treatments have significantly increased patient survival rates. However, these advancements are often accompanied by treatment-induced health issues.

An objective method to associate local weather extremes with characteristic circulation structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we give methods to find characteristic circulation patterns which are connected to local extreme temperature anomalies. Two data reduction techniques are applied: Legendre polynomial fitting and watershedding. For polynomial fitting a clear
