Is Phenylnitrene a Missing Link in the Formation of Polycyclic Aromatic Nitrogen Heterocycles? [PDF]
A new formation pathway for polycyclic aromatic nitrogen heterocycles (PANHs) has been found. The reaction of phenylnitrene and the propargyl radical leads to quinoline, proving that nitrenes are suitable precursors for nitrogen incorporation mechanisms.

Comets and Circumstellar Dust [PDF]
AbstractSpectra obtained with the Infrared Space Observatory ISO of the dusty disks surrounding young stars display several characteristics which suggest the presence of large amounts of cometary material during these early stages. Of special interest are crystalline silicates and hydrated silicates, which surprisingly appear to be present already in ...

Dust Disks Around Young Stellar Objects [PDF]
To reproduce the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of young stellar objects (YSOs), we perform radiative transfer model calculations for the circumstellar dust disks with various shapes and many dust species.

AGB Stars and Their Circumstellar Envelopes. I. the VULCAN Code
The interplay between AGB interiors and their outermost layers, where molecules and dust form, is a problem of high complexity. As a consequence, physical processes like mass loss, which depend on the chemistry of the circumstellar envelope, are often ...

Dust Growth and Evolution in Protoplanetary Disks [PDF]
Over the past decade, advancement of observational capabilities, specifically the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and Spectro-Polarimetric High-contrast Exoplanet REsearch (SPHERE) instruments, alongside theoretical innovations like ...

Supernova 2014C: Ongoing Interaction with Extended Circumstellar Material with Silicate Dust [PDF]
Supernova (SN) 2014C is unique: a seemingly typical hydrogen-poor SN that started to interact with a dense, hydrogen-rich circumstellar medium (CSM) ∼100 days post-explosion.

Dust Coagulation in Oxygen-rich Circumstellar Outflows
We show that the inefficient growth of SiO molecules on (SiO) _x dust grains prolongs the period of maximum dust nucleation in circumstellar outflows resulting in a several orders-of-magnitude increase in the dust density near the star.

Optical Properties of Non-stoichiometric Amorphous Silicates with Application to Circumstellar Dust Extinction [PDF]
We determine the optical constants of non-stoichiometric amorphous magnesium-iron silicates and demonstrate that they can well reproduce the observed mid-infrared emission spectra of evolved stars.

Early evolution of viscous and self-gravitating circumstellar disks with a dust component [PDF]
Context. Aims. The long-term evolution of a circumstellar disk starting from its formation and ending in the T Tauri phase was simulated numerically with the purpose of studying the evolution of dust in the disk with distinct values of the viscous α ...
