Through a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments, we have demonstrated that STAT6 signaling is crucial for controlling Tregs stability and suppressive function by modulating the Treg‐specific demethylated region (TSDR) methylation state of the FOXP3 gene in homeostatic and inflammatory conditions.

The two‐locus barcodes matK + ITS and ITS + ycf1 were the best‐performing combinations, allowing up to 69% and 70%, respectively, of correct identification. The use of short sequence repeats (SSR) can aid the identification of species, and the combination of both types of data (DNA barcoding and SSR) improved the success.

The association of MAFLD and NAFLD with severe COVID‐19 disease and mortality could be related to the low proinflammatory state that has been associated with metabolic dysregulation. This is the first study that reports a significant interaction of NAFLD and MAFLD with AF in the deaths and intubations of patients hospitalized with COVID‐19.
