rac-2-Aminopyridinium cis-2-carboxycyclohexane-1-carboxylate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2011
In the structure of the title compound, C5H7N2+·C8H11O4−, the cis anions associate through head-to-tail carboxylic acid–carboxyl O—H...O hydrogen bonds [graph set C(7)], forming chains which extend along c and are ...

Toward a Lattice Boltzmann Method for Solids—Application to Static Equilibrium of Isotropic Materials

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This work presents a novel method for simulating the behavior of solid objects with the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM). To introduce and validate our proposed framework, comparative studies are performed for computing the static equilibrium of isotropic ...

Liquid friction on charged surfaces: from hydrodynamic slippage to electrokinetics

open access: yes, 2006
Hydrodynamic behavior at the vicinity of a confining wall is closely related to the friction properties of the liquid/solid interface. Here we consider, using Molecular Dynamics simulations, the electric contribution to friction for charged surfaces, and

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Recent Progress in 1,2-cis glycosylation for Glucan Synthesis

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Controlling the stereoselectivity of 1,2-cis glycosylation is one of the most challenging tasks in the chemical synthesis of glycans. There are various 1,2-cis glycosides in nature, such as α-glucoside and β-mannoside in glycoproteins, glycolipids ...

Enantioselective Desymmetrization of Glutarimides Catalyzed by Oxazaborolidines Derived from cis-1-Amino-indan-2-ol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Enantioselective reductive desymmetrization of glutarimides has been achieved employing an oxazaborolidine catalyst derived from cis-1-amino-indan-2-ol.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

rac-cis,cis-Dicarbonyldichlorido{1-[2-(diphenylphosphanyl)benzyl]-3-mesitylimidazol-2-ylidene}ruthenium(II) dichloromethane monosolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
The RuII atom in the title compound, [RuCl2(C31H29N2P)(CO)2]·CH2Cl2, exhibits a distorted octahedral coordination environment. The bond angles of the cis substituents at the RuII atom range from 82.72 (9) to 97.20 (3)& ...

Integrated analysis of lncRNA, miRNA and mRNA profiles reveals potential lncRNA functions during early HIV infection

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2021
Background Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) can regulate gene expression in a cis-regulatory fashion or as “microRNA sponges”. However, the expression and functions of lncRNAs during early human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection (EHI) remain unclear ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.
