Cissus notabilis, a new name for extant Cissus spectabilis (Vitaceae)
Phytotaxa, 2015The creation of the International Fossil Plant Names Index (IFPNI, 2014 onwards) with the aim of listing of all fossil plant species reveals a few new cases of homonymy between fossil and extant species. The name Cissus spectabilis (Kurz) Planchon (1887: 1092), originally published as Vitis spectabilis Kurz (1874: 196), is an illegitimate later homonym

Composition of Cissus populnea stem
Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 2013Abstract Stems of Cissus populnea have been studied using standard analytical techniques in order to evaluate their nutritional, anti-nutritional and gum compositions. Proximate composition analysis of C. populnea stem flour showed that it is very rich in carbohydrate (43.7 ± 2.5 to 48.1 ± 3.5 g/100 g).

Antibacterial cysteine protease from Cissus quadrangularis L.
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2017An antibacterial Cp was extracted from the stem of Cissus quadrangularis and purified with a 5.39 fold increase in specific activity and 8.67% recovery. The molecular weight of the purified enzyme was estimated to be 39kDa by SDS-PAGE. The purified enzyme appeared as a single band on Native-PAGE.
