[27] ATP citrate lyase (citrate-cleavage enzyme)

1969
Publisher Summary The chapter discusses three different methods by which ATP citrate lyase is assayed by determining the amount of acetyl-CoA or oxaloacetate formed. 2009
Abstract When citrate is infused into the blood circuit, it combines with ionised calcium (IC) to form citrate – calcium complexes (non-ionised). This reduces the level of ionised calcium in the extracorporeal circuit, which in turn leads to the inhibition of clotting in the circuit.
