Citrate-Buffered, Magnesium-Enriched Dialysate on Calcification Propensity in Hemodialysis Patients – The CitMag Study

open access: yesKidney International Reports
Introduction: Serum calcification propensity (T50 time) is associated with mortality in patients on dialysis. Several solitary interventions improve T50. However, whether a combination of interventions yields further increases in T50 is unknown.

Selected 68Ga-siderophores versus 68Ga-colloid and 68Ga-citrate: biodistribution and small animal imaging in mice

open access: yesBiomedical Papers, 2015
Background: 68Ga-triacetylfusarinine C (TAFC) and 68Ga-ferrioxamine E (FOXE) show great potential to be used as highly sensitive and selective tracers for Aspergillus infection imaging.

Microfluidic Nano‐Assembly of Red‐Blood‐Cell (RBC) Lipids and Components for Engineering Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered red blood cell‐derived extracellular vesicles (eRBCEVs) are synthesized via controlled microfluidic assembly from native RBC lipids, enabling tunable encapsulation of proteins, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and viral vectors. The platform demonstrates reproducible nanoscale architecture, preserved membrane composition, and functional cargo ...

Citrate, pyruvate, and lactate contaminants of commercial serum albumin

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1968
Commercial serum albumin was found to contain lactate, pyruvate, and especially citrate in addition to fatty acids. Glucose, aspartate, and α-ketoglutarate were also present but at lower concentrations.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Nanomaterial Strategies for Pulmonary Delivery of Immunotherapeutics in Lung Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Inhalable immunotherapeutic nanomedicines enable organ‐selective immune modulation by overcoming pulmonary delivery barriers and concentrating therapy within lung tumors. This Review defines how nanomaterial properties govern airway deposition, retention, cellular partitioning, and immune activation across vaccines, checkpoint blockade, STING agonists,

Mechanotransduction of Magnetically Applied Forces Leads to Mechanical Stiffening of Platelet‐Rich Plugs

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A microfluidic device with magnetic microposts was used to assess platelet mechanobiology. The oscillatory actuation of posts with embedded iron particles was dampened by the dynamic stiffening of the platelet‐rich plugs. This stiffening process increased with applied load, but inhibiting platelet activation (ASA) or myosin contractility (blebbistatin)
