Stereochemistry of si‐Citrate Synthase and ATP‐Citrate‐Lyase Reactions [PDF]

open access: bronzeEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1971
A new synthesis of R‐ and S‐acetic acid (R‐ and S‐[2H1, 3H1]acetate) is described. R‐Acetic acid after conversion into citrate on si‐citrate synthase and cleavage of the citrate with citrate lyase regenerates an acetate which is still predominantly R.

Re -Citrate Synthase from Clostridium kluyveri Is Phylogenetically Related to Homocitrate Synthase and Isopropylmalate Synthase Rather Than to Si -Citrate Synthase [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Bacteriology, 2007
ABSTRACT The synthesis of citrate from acetyl-coenzyme A and oxaloacetate is catalyzed in most organisms by a Si -citrate synthase, which is Si -face stereospecific with respect to C-2 of oxaloacetate.

Integrated proteomic and transcriptomic analyses of Citrus australasica in response to Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus infection [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas) is the most prevalent pathogen causing the globally prevalent citrus Huanglongbing (HLB). The citrus relative Citrus australasica F. Muell. shows tolerance to HLB. In this study, we grafted HLB-tolerant

The Novel Role of Mitochondrial Citrate Synthase and Citrate in the Pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s Disease

open access: yesJournal of Alzheimer's Disease, 2023
Citrate synthase is a key mitochondrial enzyme that utilizes acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate to form citrate in the mitochondrial membrane, which participates in energy production in the TCA cycle and linked to the electron transport chain.

Enhanced solubilization of insoluble silicate from quartz and zeolite minerals by selected Aspergillus and Trichoderma species [PDF]

open access: yesMenara Perkebunan, 2020
Silicon (Si) is a major component of sand, silt and clay particles of soils. Available silica as silicic acid (H4SiO4) present in soil solution is considerably low, only in the range of 3.5–40.0 mg Si L-1.

Plasma Metabolites Predict Severity of Depression and Suicidal Ideation in Psychiatric Patients-A Multicenter Pilot Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Evaluating the severity of depression (SOD), especially suicidal ideation (SI), is crucial in the treatment of not only patients with mood disorders but also psychiatric patients in general. SOD has been assessed on interviews such as the Hamilton Rating

Interphase formation with carboxylic acids as slurry additives for Si electrodes in Li-ion batteries. Part 2: a photoelectron spectroscopy study

open access: yesJPhys Energy, 2023
Preparing aqueous silicon slurries in presence of a low-pH buffer improves the cycle life of silicon electrodes considerably because of higher reversibility of the alloying process and higher resilience towards volume changes during (de)alloying.

Soil organic carbon stabilization and associated mineral protection in typical coastal wetlands under different hydrologic conditions

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2022
The soil carbon sequestration largely depends on soil organic carbon (SOC) stability. However, the mechanism of SOC stabilization in coastal wetlands under different hydrologic conditions remains to be clarified.
