Copolymers of Poly(Butylene Trans‐1,4‐Cyclohexanedicarboxylate)/Pripol as New Biomaterial Platform for Small Diameter Vascular Graft

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospun tubular scaffolds from novel PBCE‐based copolyesters and blends were designed as candidates for small‐diameter vascular grafts. They combine defect‐free architecture, blood‐compatible surfaces, and mechanical properties comparable to native vessels.

Synthesis of More Highly Oxidized Alkyl Citrates via Direct Regio- and Stereoselective Oxidation

open access: yes
An approach to more highly oxidized alkyl citrates by direct regio- and stereoselective oxidations is reported. The total synthesis and structural assignment of alkyl citrate L-731-128 are described, and the synthesis of its C4 oxidized congener L-731 ...

Tuning the Testicular Microenvironment for Enhancing Human Sertoli Cells Maturation and Functionality In Vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An in vitro testicular model is developed by generating connective tissue equivalents from human dermal fibroblast‐derived microtissues and coupling them with human Sertoli cells or human Sertoli cell spheroids. This engineered microenvironment supports Sertoli cell maturation and functionality, providing a promising platform for studying human ...

Metabolism of Citric Acid, Potassium Citrate, Sodium Citrate and Calcium Citrate in the Rat

open access: yesFood Hygiene and Safety Science (Shokuhin Eiseigaku Zasshi), 1987
The metabolism of citric acid and potassium, sodium and calcium salts of citrate in rats was investigated by single-dose oral administration. The per capita daily intake of citric acid and its salts in Japanese was estimated to be 37.78mg/kg by Ito et al., so 37.78mg/kg was chosen as the low dose and 1, 889mg/kg (50 times more) as the high dose.

A Fully Human Engineered Bone Niche With Endogenous Osteoclastogenesis Reveals Osteoclast‐Dependent Osteomimicry in Prostate Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A human 3D bone niche integrating osteoblasts and osteoclasts enables co‐culture with prostate cancer cell lines and patient‐derived organoids. The engineered niche (i) models aspects of reciprocal phenotypic regulation between osteoblasts and cancer cells, (ii) captures osteoclast‐enhanced osteomimicry in tumor cells, and (iii) establishes a ...

Physicochemical Reinforcement Unlocks Sterilization‐Stable Anisotropic Hydrogels for Cell‐Compatible Mock Arteries

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In vitro arterial models offer ethical and robust alternatives for vascular research but require cytocompatible materials that replicate physiological mechanics. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels produced by directional freezing and salting‐out (PVA DFSO) are anisotropic yet lack stability for cell culture. Herein, methacrylated PVA (PVA‐MA)

Prospects for the use of soluble organic magnesium

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2015
Correction of magnesium deficiency is an essential component of prevention of many chronic conditions. The highest efficiency of magnesium absorption in the body is ensured by salts, which: 1) are characterized by high solubility and low toxicity, 2) are
