Determination of citrate with citrate lyase

Analytical Biochemistry, 1966
Abstract A method is described for the rapid determination of citrate in biological material which is based on the complete cleavage of the substance by purified preparations of citrate lyase in the presence of zinc ions. The assay of citrate lyase is also markedly improved by addition of zinc. The method was applied to a number of animal tissues and

Thermoanalytical studies of zinc citrate, bismuth citrate and calcium citrate

Thermochimica Acta, 1987
Abstract Thermal decomposition behaviour of the citrates of zinc, bismuth and calcium has been investigated individually and as binary mixtures (1:1) consisting of zinc citrate as the essential component. Zinc citrate is found to decompose to zinc oxide at 400 ° C, bismuth citrate decomposes to α-Bi 2 O 3 at 360 ° C and calcium citrate decomposes to

Acetyl Trialkyl Citrates

International Journal of Toxicology, 2023
The Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety reviewed newly available studies since their original assessment in 2002, along with updated information regarding product types and concentrations of use, and confirmed that Acetyl Triethyl Citrate, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Acetyl Triethylhexyl Citrate, and Acetyl Trihexyl Citrate are safe as cosmetic ...

Toxicology of the citric acid esters: Tributyl citrate, acetyl tributyl citrate, triethyl citrate, and acetyl triethyl citrate

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1959
1. 1. Some pharmacologic and toxic properties of four citrate esters, tributyl (TBC), acetyl tributyl (ATBC), triethyl (TEC), and acetyl triethyl (ATEC) citrates, administered by the gastrointestinal route have been studied in 250 rats and 95 cats. 2. 2. The two tributyl citrates are nontoxic by the oral route in the rat and cat.

Electrospray ionisation with selected reaction monitoring for the determination of Mn‐citrate, Fe‐citrate, Cu‐citrate and Zn‐citrate

Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, 2009
Abstract Citrate complexes of Mn and Fe, and potentially those of Cu and Zn, are considered as important low molecular mass species in human serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). For example, Mn is supposed to enter the brain under excess exposure as Mn‐citrate leading to neurotoxic effects.

Comparative studies of radiotracer citrates in oncological models—2. 153Smcitrate and 67Gacitrate

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part B. Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 1989
153Sm-citrate solutions were prepared from enriched 152Sm2O3 which had been irradiated at 10(12)n cm-2 s-1 in the University of Alberta Slowpoke reactor. 153Sm was rapidly bound (93% in 2 h) by Melanoma 2AB cells in tissue culture upon incubation in the presence of 153Sm-citrate (1.9 nmol 10(6) cells).

Urinary Citrate and Citrate Metabolism

2010
Citrate is the most abundant organic anion in human urine. Its urinary excretion rate mainly depends on acid–base status: Alkalosis induces an increase in urinary citrate excretion, whereas acidosis has the opposite effect. It is important to note that citrate utilization by renal cells and urinary citrate excretion are mainly affected by intracellular

Structure of a citrate double salt: potassium dihydrogen citrate–lithium potassium hydrogen citrate monohydrate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1993
The crystal structure of a double salt of potassium dihydrogen citrate and lithium potassium hydrogen citrate monohydrate has been determined. One potassium ion is coordinated with eight O atoms and the other with nine O atoms at M--O distances in the range 2.660 (1) to 3.139 (1) A. Two of these O atoms are shared by both potassium ions.

Sildenafil citrate (Viagra)

Intensive and Critical Care Nursing, 1999
Sildenafil is the first of a series of orally active treatments for MED which has resulted in unprecedented demand for treatment and potentially high cost to the NHS. Further oral therapies are likely to follow in the next year or so. In clinical trials, sildenafil produced an erection (sufficient to achieve intercourse) lasting up to 4 h on around 70%
