Production of lipase free of citrinin by Penicillium citrinum
Lipase (Glycerol ester hydrolase E.C. 3.1.1.3) from a Brazilian strain of Penicillium citrinum free of the mycotoxin citrinin has been investigated. Citrinin production was inhibited by using culture medium containing olive oil, soybean oil and corn oil ...

ABSTRACT Bioactive nanocomposite diffusion films containing plant essential oils (EOs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were fabricated and tested against foodborne pathogens, spoilage organisms, and insects in packaged foods. Films were based on chitosan (CH), poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT), and polylactic acid (PLA), containing ...

Abstract Mycotoxins (mould toxins) are secondary metabolites of moulds. They are natural toxins whose occurrence in food and feed is undesirable but cannot be completely avoided. Mycotoxins may occur as contaminants in plant products and raw materials such as grains, nuts and almonds if they are infested with mould during cultivation, storage or ...
