A CNN Approach to Simultaneously Count Plants and Detect Plantation-Rows from UAV Imagery [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS JOURNAL OF PHOTOGRAMMETRY AND REMOTE SENSING 174 (2021) 1-17, 2020
In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning method based on a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) that simultaneously detects and geolocates plantation-rows while counting its plants considering highly-dense plantation configurations. The experimental setup was evaluated in a cornfield with different growth stages and in a Citrus orchard.

Label-free shotgun proteomics and metabolite analysis reveal a significant metabolic shift during citrus fruit development. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Label-free LC-MS/MS-based shot-gun proteomics was used to quantify the differential protein synthesis and metabolite profiling in order to assess metabolic changes during the development of citrus fruits.

Unified View of Damage leaves Planimetry & Analysis Using Digital Images Processing Techniques [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The detection of leaf diseases in plants generally involves visual observation of patterns appearing on the leaf surface. However, there are many diseases that are distinguished based on very subtle changes in these visually observable patterns. This paper attempts to identify plant leaf diseases using image processing techniques.

MqsR toxin as a biotechnological tool for plant pathogen bacterial control

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Type II toxin-antitoxin (TA) systems are widespread in bacteria and are involved in important cell features, such as cell growth inhibition and antimicrobial tolerance, through the induction of persister cells.

Heterogeneous Fe‐N‐C Cocatalyst for Hydroquinone Oxidation Enables Aerobic Oxidation of Primary Alcohols to Aldehydes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A commercially available heterogeneous Fe‐N‐C catalyst supports efficient aerobic oxidation of hydroquinone to benzoquinone, outperforming homogeneous molecular cobalt and iron cocatalysts that have been used to support redox cascades. This Fe‐N‐C/benzoquinone cocatalyst system supports the highly efficient oxidation of primary alcohols to aldehydes ...

CitDet: A Benchmark Dataset for Citrus Fruit Detection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this letter, we present a new dataset to advance the state of the art in detecting citrus fruit and accurately estimate yield on trees affected by the Huanglongbing (HLB) disease in orchard environments via imaging. Despite the fact that significant progress has been made in solving the fruit detection problem, the lack of publicly available ...

Dose–response association between dietary patterns and gestational diabetes mellitus risk: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of observational studies

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 57-92, January 2023., 2023
To the best of our knowledge, there is no information regarding the strength and shape of a dose‐response relation between dietary patterns and risk of GDM; therefore, to provide further insights regarding the association between dietary patterns and GDM risk, we conducted a systematic review and dose‐response meta‐analysis to summarize the association

Global Transcriptomic Analysis Reveals Insights into the Response of ‘Etrog’ Citron (Citrus medica L.) to Citrus Exocortis Viroid Infection

open access: yesViruses, 2019
Citrus exocortis viroid (CEVd) is the causal agent of citrus exocortis disease. We employed CEVd-infected ‘Etrog’ citron as a system to study the feedback regulation mechanism using transcriptome analysis in this study.

Mining key genes related to root morphogenesis through genome-wide identification and expression analysis of RR gene family in citrus

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Morphogenesis of root is a vital factor to determine the root system architecture. Cytokinin response regulators (RRs) are the key transcription factors in cytokinin signaling, which play important roles in regulating the root morphogenesis.

National characterization of pesticide runoff and erosion potential to put USEPA standard ecological scenarios in context for pyrethroids

open access: yesIntegrated Environmental Assessment and Management, Volume 19, Issue 1, Page 175-190, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Decision‐making for pesticide registration by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) relies upon crop‐specific scenarios in a tiered framework. These standard modeling scenarios are stated to represent “…sites expected to produce runoff greater than would be expected at 90% of the sites for a given crop/use.” This study developed a ...
