Finger Citron Extract Ameliorates Glycolipid Metabolism and Inflammation by Regulating GLP‐1 Secretion via TGR5 Receptors in Obese Rats

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Finger citron (FC) is one of many traditional Chinese herbs that have been used to treat obesity. The aim of this study was to elucidate the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of FC on obese rats. Rats were fed with a high‐fat diet as a model of obesity and treated with FC at three different dosages for 6 weeks.

Effect of nanoemulsion loading finger citron (Citrus medica L. var. Sarcodactylis) essential oil on human gut microbiota

open access: yesJournal of Functional Foods, 2021
Finger citron essential oil (FCEO) is a potential resource in pharmaceutical and food industries. FCEO encapsulated by nanoemulsion can overcome its insoluble and unstable disadvantages, and prolong its digestion in the colon. This study investigated the effects of FCEO on human gut microbiota by in vitro fermentation.
