Note—Deriving the Optimal Boundaries for Class-Based Automatic Storage/Retrieval Systems [PDF]
The optimal boundaries for class-based AS/RS systems are determined. A solution procedure is developed which requires only a one-dimensional search procedure. It is shown that most of the potential improvement in the expected one-way travel time can be obtained when the warehouse is divided into a relatively small number of regions.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Quantification of drainable water storage volumes on landmasses and in river networks based on GRACE and river runoff using a cascaded storage approach – first application on the Amazon [PDF]
The knowledge of water storage volumes in catchments and in river networks leading to river discharge is essential for the description of river ecology, the prediction of floods and specifically for a sustainable management of water resources in the ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Towards Tamper-Evident Storage on Patterned Media [PDF]
We propose a tamper-evident storage system based on probe storage with a patterned magnetic medium. This medium supports normal read/write operations by out-of-plane magnetisation of individual magnetic dots.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Warehouse Design under Class-Based Storage Policy of Shuttle-Based Storage and Retrieval System
Abstract In this study, we aim to find out the best rack design for shuttle-based storage and retrieval system (SBS/RS) under class-based storage policy (CSP). SBS/RS is a new technology in automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) which is developed for high transaction environments where mini-load AS/RS crane may not be able to keep pace with ...

Exact Regeneration Codes for Distributed Storage Repair Using Interference Alignment [PDF]
The high repair cost of (n,k) Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) erasure codes has recently motivated a new class of codes, called Regenerating Codes, that optimally trade off storage cost for repair bandwidth.
