Decentralised Control of Micro-Storage in the Smart Grid [PDF]
In this paper, we propose a novel decentralised control mechanism to manage micro-storage in the smart grid. Our approach uses an adaptive pricing scheme that energy suppliers apply to home smart agents controlling micro-storage devices.

Note—Deriving the Optimal Boundaries for Class-Based Automatic Storage/Retrieval Systems [PDF]
The optimal boundaries for class-based AS/RS systems are determined. A solution procedure is developed which requires only a one-dimensional search procedure. It is shown that most of the potential improvement in the expected one-way travel time can be obtained when the warehouse is divided into a relatively small number of regions.

Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

Class-based storage warehouse design with diagonal cross-aisle
Background: Unit-load (UL) warehouses are among the most diffuse solutions to store items stocked in pallets, while class-based storage (CBS) assignment is an effective strategy balancing the storage space need and the UL traceability. This paper proposes a design strategy to reduce the access time for UL-CBS systems based on the inclusion of one ...
