Sample Compression Schemes for VC Classes [PDF]
Sample compression schemes were defined by Littlestone and Warmuth (1986) as an abstraction of the structure underlying many learning algorithms. Roughly speaking, a sample compression scheme of size k means that given an arbitrary list of labeled examples, one can retain only k of them in a ...

Accelerated schemes for a class of variational inequalities [PDF]
We propose a novel method, namely the accelerated mirror-prox (AMP) method, for computing the weak solutions of a class of deterministic and stochastic monotone variational inequalities (VI). The main idea of this algorithm is to incorporate a multi-step acceleration scheme into the mirror-prox method.

Historical (1960–2014) lightning and LNOx trends and their controlling factors in a chemistry–climate model [PDF]
Lightning can cause natural hazards that result in human and animal injuries and fatalities, infrastructure destruction, and wildfire ignition. Lightning-produced NOx (LNOx), a major NOx (NOx=NO+NO2) source, plays a vital role in atmospheric chemistry ...

HaG: Hash graph based key predistribution scheme for multiphase wireless sensor networks [PDF]
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) consist of small sensor nodes which operate until their energy reserve is depleted. These nodes are generally deployed to the environments where network lifespan is much longer than the lifetime of a node.
