Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Two helpful developments towards better understanding of adiabatic invariance in classical mechanics

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ensino de Física
The topic of difficult understanding of adiabatic invariance in classical mechanics is dealt with in a more understandable way. Using the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator as an example, the goals of this paper are twofold.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

On internal constraints in continuum mechanics

open access: yesDifferential Equations and Nonlinear Mechanics, 2006
In classical particle mechanics, it is well understood that while working with nonholonomic and nonideal constraints, one cannot expect that the constraint be workless.
