This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

It is often claimed, or hoped, that some temporal asymmetries are explained by the thermodynamic asymmetry in time. Thermodynamics, the macroscopic physics of pressure, temperature, volume, and so on, describes many temporally asymmetric processes.

Quantum tunnelling, real-time dynamics and Picard-Lefschetz thimbles
We follow up the work, where in light of the Picard-Lefschetz thimble approach, we split up the real-time path integral into two parts: the initial density matrix part which can be represented via an ensemble of initial conditions, and the dynamic part ...

A statistical mechanical approach to generalized statistics of quantum and classical gases
Abstract For many particle non-interacting gases which are in heat and particle baths the grand canonical ensemble concept has been set out. The set of occupation numbers of the R quantum states of the gas is described by { n 1 , n 2 , …, n k , …}. As the entropy of the ensemble, one of the fractal inspired entropies, namely Tsallis entropy,

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Link between Lie Group Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics of Continua
In this work, we consider the value of the momentum map of the symplectic mechanics as an affine tensor called momentum tensor. From this point of view, we analyze the underlying geometric structure of the theories of Lie group statistical mechanics and ...

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

Twist Fields in Many-Body Physics
The notion of twist fields has played a fundamental role in many-body physics. It is used to construct the so-called disorder parameter for the study of phase transitions in the classical Ising model of statistical mechanics, it is involved in the Jordan–

Stress analysis of rotational shaft with a constant angular speed using strain gradient theory [PDF]
In classical mechanics, considering Hook’s law stress is a linear function of strain. While in strain gradient theory stress is a function of strain and strain differentials.
