Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Verbal numeral classifiers in languages of Eastern Eurasia: A typological survey

open access: yesOpen Linguistics
This article presents a typological survey of verbal numeral classifiers (VNCs) in languages of Eastern Eurasia. As classifiers of occurrence (e.g., to V once, to V twice), VNCs are prevalent in languages of East Asia and Southeast Asia, yet the ...

Machine Learning Classifier-Based Metrics Can Evaluate the Efficiency of Separation Systems

open access: yesEntropy
This paper highlights that metrics from the machine learning field (e.g., entropy and information gain) used to qualify a classifier model can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of separation systems.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Design for novel enhanced weightless neural network and multi-classifier. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Weightless neural systems have often struggles in terms of speed, performances, and memory issues. There is also lack of sufficient interfacing of weightless neural systems to others systems.

Feature selection for modular GA-based classification

open access: yes, 2004
Genetic algorithms (GAs) have been used as conventional methods for classifiers to adaptively evolve solutions for classification problems. Feature selection plays an important role in finding relevant features in classification.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Artificial Intelligence-Based Effective Detection of Parkinson’s Disease Using Voice Measurements

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative illness that affects the central nervous system and leads to a gradual degeneration of neurons that results in movement slowness, mental health problems, speaking difficulties, etc.
