Covering Numbers for Support Vector Machines [PDF]
Support vector (SV) machines are linear classifiers that use the maximum margin hyperplane in a feature space defined by a kernel function. Until recently, the only bounds on the generalization performance of SV machines (within Valiant’s probably ...

Classifiers, partitions, and measurements: Exploring the syntax and semantics of sortal classifiers
In many languages, measure terms like item and kilo, as in two items of furniture and two kilos of rice, can be used either to partition the nominal denotation into countable units, or to measure a denotation without inducing a partition. These two types

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Learning Multi-Tree Classification Models with Ant Colony Optimization [PDF]
Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a meta-heuristic for solving combinatorial optimization problems, inspired by the behaviour of biological ant colonies. One of the successful applications of ACO is learning classification models (classifiers).

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The role of classifiers in feature selection: Number vs nature
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Wrapper feature selection approaches are widely used to select a small subset of relevant features from a dataset.

Examining Variations of Prominent Features in Genre Classification. [PDF]
This paper investigates the correlation between features of three types (visual, stylistic and topical types) and genre classes. The majority of previous studies in automated genre classification have created models based on an amalgamated ...

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Architectures of evolving fuzzy rule-based classifiers [PDF]
Prediction of the properties of the crude oil distillation side streams based on statistical methods and laboratory-based analysis has been around for decades. However, there are still many problems with the existing estimators that require a development
