Efeito do peso ao abate nos rendimentos dos processamentos do pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus)

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2011
The objective was to evaluate the effect of slaughter weight on the processing efficiency of Pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus). The fish were cultivated in a soil vivarium and fed commercial feed.

Determination of the Separation Densities to Achieve the Greatest Yield of the Concentrate of Hard-Cleaning Coals [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
A variant of application of Reinhardt's theorem for determination of separation densities at which it is possible to obtain the maximum ultimate yield of gravity concentrate with a particle size of 0.5-100 mm at a given ash content obtained from hard-cleaning coals of two machine classes 13-100 and 0.5-13 mm is considered.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Susceptibility of Cassava Varieties to Disease Caused by Sri Lankan Cassava Mosaic Virus and Impacts on Yield by Use of Asymptomatic and Virus-Free Planting Material

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a rainfed, smallholder-produced crop in mainland Southeast Asia, and is currently facing a serious challenge posed by the introduction of cassava mosaic disease (CMD).

THE EFFECT OF DRY SLUDGE PRODUCTS FROM CLEAN WATER TREATMENT ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF RADISH ON PEAT SOIL

open access: yes, 2019
Peat soil has a very low pH so it is unsuitable to be used as a planting medium. Efforts to increase the pH of peat soils can be through the provision of dry sludge resulting from clean water treatment.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Livina mulches suppress aphids in broccoli

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1994
A living mulch combines an annual crop with a cover crop to provide pest control and soil protection. Results of a study in the Salinas Valley show cabbage aphid infestation can be lowered on broccoli grown in living mulches compared to

Production of Ultra-Clean Coal by the Combined Method of Grinding and Collector Gasification Flotation

open access: yes, 2022
The preparation and application of ultra-clean coal is one of the important aspects of clean energy technology. However, the preparation of ultra-clean coal is mainly chemical methods, which are low in efficiency, high in energy consumption and expensive.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
