Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Electrochemical Preparation of Sub-micrometer Sn-Sb Alloy powder in ChCl-EG deep eutectic solvent

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2016
The sub-micrometer Sn-Sb alloy powders were electrochemically prepared on a titanium substrate in choline chloride-ethylene glycol (ChCl-EG, 1:2 molar ratio) deep eutectic solvent containing 0.2 M SbCl3 and 0.2 M SnCl2.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Output risk evolution analysis of agricultural non-point source pollution under different scenarios based on multi-model

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Conservation, 2020
The Fuling District is located in central Chongqing, China, and characterized by a high ecological status, a high ecological risk, a high agricultural proportion in economy, and a high agricultural non-point source pollution (AGNPS) risk, and represents ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Symmetrization in Clean and Nil-Clean Rings

open access: yesIzvestiya of Saratov University. New Series. Series: Mathematics. Mechanics. Informatics, 2020
A ring \(R\) is said to be \textsl{double nil-clean} or just \textsl{ D-nil-clean} for short if, for every \(a\in R\), there exists \(e\in (aRa)\cap Id(R)\) such that \(a=e+q\) for some \(q\in \mathrm{Nil}(R)\). Similarly, a ring \(R\) is said to be \textsl{double clean} or just \textsl{D-clean} for short if, for each \(a\in R\), there exists \(e\in ...
