Marker Genes of Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport
An analysis was conducted on marker genes indicating the induction of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and their role in the pathogenesis of this oncological disease.

Immunotherapy of Clear-Cell Renal-Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesCancers
Clear-cell Renal-Cell Carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common type of renal-cell carcinoma (RCC). In many cases, RCC patients manifest the first symptoms during the advanced stage of the disease. For this reason, immunotherapy appears to be one of the dominant treatments to achieve a resolution.

Intratumoral heterogeneity analysis reveals hidden associations between protein expression losses and patient survival in clear cell renal cell carcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Intratumoral heterogeneity (ITH) is a prominent feature of kidney cancer. It is not known whether it has utility in finding associations between protein expression and clinical parameters. We used ITH that is detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) to aid

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Expression of LDL receptor-related proteins (LRPs) in common solid malignancies correlates with patient survival [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
LDL receptor-related proteins (LRPs) are transmembrane receptors involved in endocytosis, cell-signaling, and trafficking of other cellular proteins. Considerable work has focused on LRPs in the fields of vascular biology and neurobiology.

A Human Kidney Tubuloid Model of Repeated Cisplatin‐Induced Cellular Senescence and Fibrosis for Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Replicating aging and senescence‐related pathophysiological responses in kidney organoids remains a significant challenge. Human adult renal tubular organoid, tubuloids, are successfully developed recapitulating cellular senescence that is the central pathophysiological mechanism of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma to Submandibular Gland: A Rare Occurrence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Approximately 20-30% of patients affected by renal cell carcinoma (RCC) present with metastatic disease, and 20% to 40% undergoing nephrectomy for clinically localized disease will develop metastases.

Doxorubicin‐Loaded Metal–Organic Framework for Ferroptosis‐Enhanced Chemotherapy Through Sustained Zn Release and Glutathione Peroxidase Downregulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A robust zinc‐based metal–organic framework (ZnMOF) enables dual functions of doxorubicin delivery and sustained Zn2+ release to trigger ferroptosis‐enhnaced chemotherapy. DOX@ZnMOF effectively depletes intracellular glutathione, suppresses GPX4, and elevates reactive oxygen species, leading to efficient oxidative DNA damage and apoptosis.

Beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase II predicts poor prognosis of patients with non-metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase II is found to be associated with the alterations of tumor-related glycosylation. However, the clinical significance of beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase II in non-metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma has not been ...
