The Effect of Climatic Variables on Agriculture (Case Study: Rainfed Wheat Yield) [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2019
The yield of rainfed crops depends on climatic parameters, plant genetic characteristics, soil type and agricultural operations (Hosaini et al., 2007). Among these factors, climatic variables have a stochastic nature.

Impact of large-scale dynamic versus thermodynamic climate conditions on contrasting tropical cyclone genesis frequency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Significant advances have been made in understanding the key climate factors responsible for tropical cyclone (TC) activity, yet any theory that estimates likelihood of observed TC formation rates from mean climate states remains elusive.

Genetic diversity and population structure of the Taigan dog breed

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The Taigan is a rare sighthound from the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. We used DNA markers to study its genetic diversity and compare it with other sighthound breeds. Our findings show that the Taigan shares close genetic ties with the Kazakh Tazy, suggesting a common ancestry shaped by nomadic traditions and regional adaptation.

Relative Humidity: A Control Valve of the Steam Engine Climate

open access: yesJournal of Human, Earth, and Future, 2021
In the words of Heinrich Hertz in 1885, the Earth is a “gigantic steam engine”. On average, of the planet’s cross section exposed to sunlight, 72 % belong to the global ocean.

The MSA Atrophy Index (MSA‐AI): An Imaging Marker for Diagnosis and Clinical Progression in Multiple System Atrophy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Reliable biomarkers are essential for tracking disease progression and advancing treatments for multiple system atrophy (MSA). In this study, we propose the MSA Atrophy Index (MSA‐AI), a novel composite volumetric measure to distinguish MSA from related disorders and monitor disease progression. Methods Seventeen participants with an

NOTCH2NLC Repeat Expansions in Parkinsonian Disorders: Clinical and Neuroimaging Characteristics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by NOTCH2NLC GGC repeat expansions, with heterogeneous clinical manifestations, including parkinsonism. Recent studies have identified NOTCH2NLC repeat expansions in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and atypical parkinsonism (aPM), suggesting ...
