Reductions in Anthropogenic Aerosol and Greenhouse Gas Drive Divergent Regional Impacts on Wildfire Risks in China Under Carbon Neutrality

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Understanding the impacts of future emissions reductions on wildfire risk is critical for climate adaptation under carbon neutrality scenarios. Here, this study investigates how reductions in aerosol and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions affect wildfire ...

An Anti‐Amyloidogenic Approach to Specifically Block Memory Consolidation in Mice for Therapeutic Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Functional amyloid conversion of the translation regulator CPEB3 is essential for long‐term memory persistence. This study demonstrates that targeting this molecular switch with the anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 selectively blocks CPEB3 fibrillation without disrupting phase separation.

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Gonadotropin‐Inhibitory Hormone (GnIH) and Its Receptor GPR147 Mediates Acute Stress‐Induced Activation of the Locus Coeruleus‐SAM Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gonadotropin‐inhibitory hormone (GnIH, also known as RFamide‐related peptide‐3, RFRP‐3) is a hypothalamic neuropeptide that regulates vertebrate reproduction via its receptor GPR147. Although GnIH is known to mediate stress‐induced reproductive suppression, its role in broader stress responses remains unclear.

A Soft, Flexible Implant for Wireless Photothermal–Pyroelectric Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A replication strategy is used to enlarge the exposed surface area of barium titanate within flexible films with embedded carbon nanotubes, enabling efficient photothermal‐pyroelectric stimulation. Polar crystalline nanosheets show superior performance in guiding neural progenitor cells toward neuronal differentiation.

Land–atmosphere feedbacks weaken the risks of precipitation extremes over Australia in a warming climate

open access: yesAdvances in Climate Change Research
The importance of land–atmosphere feedbacks on regional precipitation changes has been recently noted. However, how land–atmosphere feedbacks shape daily precipitation distributions, particularly the tails of precipitation distributions associated with ...

An Adipocyte MKK3–p38β Axis Preserves Insulin Responsiveness in Mice and Is Reciprocally Altered in Human Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The adipocyte MKK3–p38β axis emerges as an adaptive stress‐response pathway during obesity. Human visceral adipose tissue analyses, adipocyte‐specific mouse models, and primary adipocytes show that the MKK3–p38β axis supports insulin responsiveness by restraining p70S6K‐dependent inhibitory IRS1 feedback and preserving AKT–GLUT4 signaling. This pathway
