Marine Pollution Bulletin, 1991
Abstract The first of this book’s thematic chapters addresses the wicked problem of climate change. This is the wicked problem that archaeologists have engaged with most. It is also an area of research that has long focused the minds of heritage practitioners, concerned with the impacts of coast erosion on the survival of what are ...

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2020
This article presents a bifurcation analysis of a simple Energy Balance Model (EBM) of the Earth’s climate, which suggests that topological change has occurred in the paleoclimate history of the Earth. In the theory of dynamical systems, two systems that are topologically equivalent have solutions with the same qualitative behavior.

Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America
As human-induced climate change warms the planet, its health impacts will affect all populations, but certain groups will be more vulnerable to its impacts. Given its role as a health care safety net, emergency medicine will play a crucial role in addressing these health conditions.

Frontiers for Young Minds
Climate change is already affecting the environment and people around the world. We have seen changes in the air, in water, and in plants and animals. These impacts include things like warmer temperatures, sea-level rise, heavy rainfall and more intense ...

Climate change exacerbates the environmental impacts of agriculture
ScienceAgriculture’s global environmental impacts are widely expected to continue expanding, driven by population and economic growth and dietary changes. This Review highlights climate change as an additional amplifier of agriculture’s environmental impacts ...

Science, 2003
Large, abrupt, and widespread climate changes with major impacts have occurred repeatedly in the past, when the Earth system was forced across thresholds. Although abrupt climate changes can occur for many reasons, it is conceivable that human forcing of climate change is increasing the probability of large, abrupt events.

A changing climate for climate modeling
IEEE Concurrency, 1999Is the Earth's climate changing, and to what degree are these changes due to human actions? These are the key questions that must be answered before ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. Measurements must be used to evaluate the credibility of supercomputer models of the atmospheric, oceanic, and biotic systems that determine the world's climate.

Climate Change and Climate Change Communication
2020By time, climate change research is divided into paleoclimatology research and modern climate change research. Closely related to paleogeology, paleontology, geochemistry, and atmospheric physics, paleoclimatology mainly studies the formation of climate during the geologic epoch. Dated back to the late nineteenth century, modern climate change research
