Fibronectin1‐Expressing Subicular Circuits Selectively Govern the Retrieval of Novel Object Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibronectin 1 (FN1)‐expressing subicular subpopulations encode novel object preference and selectively govern retrieval of novel object recognition (NOR) via affecting excitability of entorhinal‐projecting circuit through large conductance Ca2+‐activated potassium (BK) channel. ABSTRACT Novel object recognition (NOR), referring to the cognitive ability

Measuring safety climate in health care

open access: yes, 2006
A systematic literature review was undertaken to study sample and questionnaire design characteristics (source, no of items, scale type), construct validity (content validity, factor structure and internal reliability, concurrent validity), within group ...

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Energetic constraints on tropical precipitation changes under stratospheric aerosol geoengineering: a topical review

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Since Crutzen’s (2006 Clim. Change 77 211–20) call for research into stratospheric aerosol geoengineering (SAG), a form of solar radiation modification, the field of SAG research has witnessed substantial growth.

Agnuside Stabilizes the Complex I Assembly Factor NDUFAF6 to Reinforce Mitochondrial Efficiency and Thermogenic Responsiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Brown and beige adipocytes dissipate energy as heat, yet effective strategies to enhance their mitochondrial efficiency remain limited. Here, we identify Agnuside (AGN) as a selective stabilizer of the complex I assembly factor NDUFAF6. AGN directly binds cytosolic NDUFAF6, suppresses its ubiquitination, prolongs its half‐life, and facilitates

Sulfur Exposure for Airplane Passengers From Stratospheric Aerosol Injection

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Injection of sulfur dioxide to create a stratospheric sulfate aerosol cloud is the most studied method of climate intervention. It has been suggested that airplanes be used at high latitudes to create such a cloud at lower altitudes. Commercial airplanes

Assessing the financial vulnerability to climate-related natural hazards [PDF]

open access: yes
National governments are key actors in managing the impacts of extreme weather events, yet many highly exposed developing countries -- faced with exhausted tax bases, high levels of indebtedness, and limited donor assistance -- have been unable to raise ...

Dissecting the Ecological Structure of Health and Disease in the Global Gut Microbiome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce Wiredancer, a framework that identifies three continuous ecological factors of the gut microbiota. These factors exhibit distinct patterns across health and disease, jointly capturing disrupted ecological stability and offering a new perspective for precision diagnostics and therapeutic strategies.
