Single amino acid substitutions in the global regulator CodY can alter nutrient sensing and virulence regulation in Clostridioides difficile. We show that the CodY(Y146N) and CodY(V58A) variants display altered ligand binding and reduced promoter binding, leading to derepression of toxin regulatory pathways and increased virulence in vivo.

This study demonstrated that it is improper to overinterpret isolated frozen section positivity. It may be safe to implant prosthesis in patients who had positive frozen sections but without other signs of infection. Surgeons opting for staged revisions solely based on neutrophil counts risk unnecessary morbidity, particularly in patients with ...

Niger data Inducible clindamycin resistance
Macrolide-induced resistance to clindamycin is a well-described mechanism leading to the misuse of clindamycin and hence to treatment failure. In this study, we determined the frequency and associated factors of inducible clindamycin resistance in Gram ...

Clindamycin Induced Dysphagia – A Rare Concurrence
Although dysphagia is a mechanical impedance in phase specific mechanism, drug induced dysphagia is an adverse event often caused due to esophagitis. Clindamycin is well known to cause esophagitis; itself causing dysphagia is not reported in literature ...
