Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview of clindamycin, which is the generic name for 7(S)-chloro-7-deoxylincomycin. This compound is more active than lincomycin, but the bioassay procedures are essentially the same. The clindamycin blood assay is the same as the lincomycin assay.

Aqueous Stability of Clindamycin
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1970The kinetics and mechanism of degradation of the antibiotic clindamycin were studied in buffered aqueous solution in the pH range 0.4-12. Clindamycin showed maximum stability at pH 3-5; however, high temperature studies indicated that not more than 10% degradation will occur in the pH range 1-6.5 after two years at 25°.
