Targeting EZH2 reverses thyroid cell dedifferentiation and enhances iodide uptake in anaplastic thyroid cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) lacks iodide uptake ability due to MAPK activation increasing the expression of the histone methyltransferase EZH2, which represses thyroid differentiation genes (TDGs) such as the sodium iodide symporter (NIS). Dual inhibition of MAPK (U0126) and EZH2 (EPZ6438/Tazemetostat) reverses this mechanism, thus restoring TDG ...

Diazoxide-responsive hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia caused by HNF4A gene mutations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Objective: The phenotype associated with heterozygous HNF4A gene mutations has recently been extended to include diazoxide responsive neonatal hypoglycemia in addition to maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY).

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

RET mutation and increased angiogenesis in medullary thyroid carcinomas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Advanced medullary thyroid cancers (MTCs) are now being treated with drugs that inhibit receptor tyrosine kinases, many of which involved in angiogenesis.

Electrical pulse stimulation reflecting the episodic nature of real‐life exercise modulates metabolic and secretory profile of primary human myotubes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.

Lnc‐HZ05 Suppresses Trophoblast Cell Migrasome Formation by Disrupting TGFβ2 Pathway in Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TGFβ2 signaling‐mediated migration/invasion and migrasome formation are suppressed in recurrent miscarriage (RM) versus healthy control villous tissues and are negatively associated with unexplained RM. In mechanism, TGFβ2 promotes trophoblast cell migration/invasion and migrasome formation, all of which are suppressed by lnc‐HZ05. In details, lnc‐HZ05
