Immunologic Techniques in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory [PDF]

open access: bronzeLaboratory Medicine, 2000
Immunology has a crucial role in microbiology. This is evident in that antibody is a key component of the test methods used to diagnose infectious disease. Antibody is used to detect pathogens with techniques such as latex agglutination, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and immunofluorescent antibody test. In addition, antibody may be quantitated and

Measurement of salivary cortisol in 2012 – laboratory techniques and clinical indications [PDF]

open access: bronzeClinical Endocrinology, 2012
SummaryThe utility of measuring salivary cortisol has become increasingly appreciated since the early 1980s. Salivary cortisol is a measure of active free cortisol and follows the diurnal rhythm of serum or plasma cortisol. The saliva sample may be collected by drooling or through the use of absorbent swabs which are placed into the mouth until ...

Principles of Immunochemical Techniques Used in Clinical Laboratories [PDF]

open access: bronzeLaboratory Medicine, 2006
Immunochemistry offers simple, rapid, robust yet sensitive, and in most cases, easily automated methods applicable to routine analyses in clinical laboratories. Immunochemical methods do not usually require extensive and destructive sample preparation or expensive instrumentation.

Study on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Clinical Laboratory Science Techniques

open access: diamondThe Korean Journal of Clinical Laboratory Science, 2019

Fertility preservation techniques: laboratory and clinical progress and current issues [PDF]

open access: bronzeREPRODUCTION, 2008
Human fertility is dependent on maturation of germ cells through meiosis and their association with supporting cells, which in the female are also the source of sex steroids. These processes are sensitive to both chemotherapy and radiotherapy thus can be damaged by anti-cancer treatments. The uterus is also sensitive to radiotherapy.

SPARK EROSION IMPLANT-SUPPORTED OVERDENTURES: CLINICAL AND LABORATORY TECHNIQUES

open access: bronzeImplant Dentistry, 1992
Overdentures can be utilized effectively in treatment plans involving implants. Usually soft tissue support is necessary, which requires a conventional denture base. Implant-supported overdentures do not require conventional denture base extension unless necessitated by functional or esthetic considerations.

Operations Research Techniques in Management of Samples Transport to the Clinical Laboratory

open access: bronzeOALib, 2014
Currently, the model is based on the Clinical Laboratory. It is a great centre that performs almost all of the techniques. Thanks to the automation of them. These laboratories receive samples from centres that often are some kilometers away. Time spent between collection and processing must be as short as possible and this is a requirement to care ...
