The mechanism of the metacercarial excystment of Clinostomum complanatum (Rud. 1814).
Fish Pathology, 1987 The metacercaria of Clinostomum complanatum excysts from fish only after activation. The present study was conducted to determine whether activation was dependent on temperature, hydrogen ion concentration or on the stomach enzyme, pepsin. The data indicate that the metacercaria is very sensitive to a high temperature such as 39°C and 42°C.

The patient was a 56-year old male who visited an otolaryngology clinic due to foreign body sensation and pain of the pharyngeal region for 3-4 days. He used to eat raw fresh-water fish.
