SYNTHESES OF PGF2α AND CLOPROSTENOL

Tetrahedron, 1981
Abstract Prins reaction of norbornadiene leads to an efficient synthesis of the ketoacid ( 5 ) which is cleaved regio- and stereo-specifically with acids to 5- exo -substituted norbornan-2-one-7-carboxylic acids. Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of these ketones leads to bridged lactones, e.g.

Farrowing induction with cloprostenol-xylazine combination

Theriogenology, 1989
Eighty crossbred, multiparous sows, weighing between 190 and 320 kg, were randomly assigned to the following four treatment groups of 20 sows each: 1) saline-saline, 2) cloprostenol-saline, 3) saline-xylazine and 4) cloprostenol-xylazine. The mean gestation length of each multiparous sow was calculated.

Double bond isomers of cloprostenol

Prostaglandins, 1979
The syntheses of five compounds isomeric with the potent luteolytic agent cloprostenol are described. These are the trans-delta 5, cis and trans-delta 4, cis-delta 6 (methyl ester) and cis-delta 13 analogues. The cis-delta 4 isomer is as potent as cloprostenol as a luteolytic agent in hamsters but the others are markedly less so.

Induction of Parturition in Cattle with Cloprostenol

British Veterinary Journal, 1982
SUMMARY Four cows were induced to calve prematurely by a continuous intravenous infusion of cloprostenol, a prostaglandin analogue, and 64 cows and heifers were induced by a single intramuscular injection. No advantage was evident from the continuous administration of cloprostenol compared with the single injection.

HPLC method for enantioselective analysis of cloprostenol

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2008
A new HPLC method for the separation and quantification of cloprostenol enantiomers was developed. The optimized separation system consisted of Chiralcel OD-RH column and acetonitrile-sodium dihydrogenphosphate (pH 3.0; 20mM) (33:67, v/v) as the mobile phase.

Induction of ovulation in gilts with cloprostenol

Theriogenology, 1989
Prepuberal gilts were treated with 750 IU pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) followed 72 h later by 500 IU human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to induce follicular growth and ovulation. In this model, ovulation occurred at 42 +/- 2 h post hCG treatment.

Fluorine containing analogues of cloprostenol

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 2020
Abstract The reaction of methyl ester C-11, C-15 bis-TBDPS derivative of cloprostenol with DAST in CH2Cl2 at −78 °C followed by warming to room temperature results in a product of SN2-substitution at C-9, elimination to give a Δ8,9-olefine, and epimeric 9-deoxy-C-8 fluorides. The reaction products were separated by TLC and HPLC methods.
