open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 1999

Seasonal and intracanopy shifts in the fates of absorbed photons in central Amazonian forests: implications for leaf fluorescence and photosynthesis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 248, Issue 1, Page 76-91, October 2025.
Summary Recent studies have shown a linear relationship between solar‐induced Chl fluorescence (SIF) and gross primary productivity (GPP) at large scales. However, this relationship diverges at finer leaf scales, particularly in tropical forests with complex canopy structures.

Estimating chlorophyll content from Eucalyptus dunnii leaves by reflectance values

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2016
This study aimed to estimate photosynthetic pigments contents from leaves of Eucalyptus dunni Maiden based on values of reflectance spectra of red, green and blue colors obtained with a digital color analyzer.

Environmental and human factors shape the trophic ecology of a widespread marine predator

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 94, Issue 9, Page 1784-1799, September 2025.
Our study reveals how environmental factors and fishing pressure influence swordfish diet, highlighting trophic shifts under future climate scenarios. We provide a novel framework to strengthen our ability to plan for and manage the redistribution of species under global change ensuring that the energetic needs of predators are met.

Assessing Closed Hydroponic Subsystems for Batavia Lettuce Growth Under Different Planting Densities

open access: yesWorld Water Policy, Volume 11, Issue 2, Page 427-438, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Hydroponic systems have the potential to be sustainable and alternative methods for food production that confer advantages of high production and better control of growth. However, only a few studies have focused on leafy vegetable growth in different subsystems and environmental variables.

Confirming the studies of F onseca R ibeiro and Guimaraes, the authors showed besides that with a contact for 15 minutes, 0.5 ml. of hydro-soluble chlorophyll at 1% neutralizes 500 M.L.D. of tetanic toxine; that 100 ml. of tetanic toxine (concentration of 1 ml. = 15,000 M.L.D. guinea pigs) in contact with 1,0 g.

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 50, Issue 1, Page 201-213, February 2025.
Hurricanes create major disturbances to stream ecosystems by producing large floods and removing riparian vegetation. Understanding their impacts is a priority, as hurricane intensity will increase with global climate change. Hurricane disturbance shifts mayfly assemblages from dominance by Leptophlebiidae before to Baetidae after.

Photosynthetic behaviour during the leaf ontogeny of rubber tree clones[Hevea brasiliensis (Wild. ex. Adr. de Juss.) Muell. Muell. Arg.], em Lavras, MG

open access: yesCiência e Agrotecnologia, 2007
This work proposed to investigate changes in the photosynthetic behavior during the leaf ontogeny of the during the leaf development. Up to the 32nd day of leaf age (stage B2), the net photosynthesis was negative due to the inefficiency of the ...
