Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

A new closed-form solution for optimal portfolio selection with liquidity risk

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis
In the literature on optimal portfolio selection problems, it is rare that closed-form solutions are found. It is even more so when liquidity risk needs to be taken into consideration.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Validation of a closed-form solution to Fick’s diffusion laws for non-steady state sorption by a plane sheet

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Fick's second law is a partial differential equation that describes the time-dependent concentration distribution of a diffusing species. It is fundamental to fields like environmental and materials engineering.

Construct the closed-form solution of -net of Petri nets by case study

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
After our researches on the effect of a non-sharing resource in a k th order which is the concept of customization manufacturing, in this article we extend the research on the closed-form solution of control-related states to the so-called A -net which ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Elastic Contact Between a Transversely, Uniformly Loaded Circular Membrane and a Spring-Reset Rigid Flat Circular Plate: An Improved Closed-Form Solution

open access: yesMathematics
The closed-form solution of the problem regarding elastic contact between a transversely, uniformly loaded circular membrane and a spring-reset rigid flat circular plate has potential application value in sensor developments or bending-free shell designs,
