Closed circuit ball mill – Basics revisited

Minerals Engineering, 2013
Abstract Since the early days, there has been a general consensus within the industry and amongst grinding professionals that classification efficiency and circulating load both have a major effect on the efficiency of closed circuit ball mills. However, the effect of each is difficult to quantify in practice as these two parameters are usually ...

Offsetting operations via closed ball approximation

Computer-Aided Design, 1995
A general offsetting methodology that is capable of offsetting 2D/3D closed regions of any arbitrary shape is presented in the paper. Regular, closed and bounded objects are offset using an offsetting procedure that is based on closed ball expansions. Each point on the boundary is expanded to a closed ball to form the offset object.

On the Union of Closed Balls Property

Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2012
The authors propose in this paper a new analytical proof for a strengthened version of the variable radius form of the union of closed balls conjecture introduced by the same authors in an old paper. The improvement results from the fact that they provide a bigger radius for the balls covering the given closed set.

Closed-Loop Vision-Based Ball Balancer

2021
This paper presents the mathematical modeling, design, and implementation of a ball balancer. The aim is to balance the ball at a desired position on the base plate. Ball balancer with two degrees of freedom uses machine vision as feedback and DC servomotors as actuators.

Closed Ideals in the Ball Algebra

Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 1989
Let Bn be the open unit ball of C , and let H(B^) be the algebra of bounded analytic functions on Bn, endowed with the uniform norm on Bn. The ball algebra is the space A(Bn) = C(Bn) n //°°(Z?ra), also given the uniform norm on Bn. We will write Sn = dBn, D = Blt and T = Sv For a collection J " of functions in A(Bn), associate the zero set f(z) = 0 for

Uniform domains close to a ball

Siberian Mathematical Journal, 2011
In the paper under review the authors present a few geometric properties of the uniform domains using Möbius-invariant definitions. The main result is that, for large angles without additional constraints, the property of homogeneity of a domain for pairs of boundary points is equivalent to the property for all pairs of points in the domain and the ...

Spreadsheet-based simulation of closed ball milling circuits

Minerals Engineering, 2006
Abstract Grinding, particularly at finer sizes to achieve the required degree of liberation or specific surface, is a critical unit operation in terms of energy consumption and process optimization. Nowadays, considering the significant developments made in computer hardware and software, using simulation programs to optimize design and operation of ...
