ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) exhibit heterogeneous responses to oral glucocorticoids (GCs), but the biological basis of this variability remains unclear. Objective To identify gut microbiome‒plasma metabolomic signatures associated with GC responsiveness in CRSwNP patients and to compare their ...

Characterization of Clostridioides difficile Persister Cells and Their Role in Antibiotic Tolerance
Clostridioides difficile is a Gram-positive pathogen known for its toxin production and spore formation. It is primarily responsible for most cases of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Bacterial persisters are a small subset of the population that exhibits

Clostridia isolated from faeces
CANCER of the colon may result from the action of carcinogens produced from steroids in the intestine by gut bacteria (Aries et al., 1969; Hill et al., 1971). Clostridia are among the most metabolically active of intestinal bacteria. Several species have

Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of cellulase and Lactobacillus plantarum on the silage quality, in situ digestibility, and microbial communities of apple pomace silage. The combined supplementation of cellulase and Lactobacillus plantarum in apple pomace silage improved fermentation quality and enhanced rumen utilization efficiency.
