After oral administration, inodorous GLU‐BA self‐assembles into nanomicelles in aqueous environments to resist premature gastric adsorption. Upon reaching the intestine, endogenous esterases rapidly cleave the built‐in ester bonds in these nanomicelles to release BA and GLU, with GLU further metabolized by gut microbiota to gradually generate BA ...

Engineered Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 with a tannic acid‐mediated BPA coating enables tumor‐targeted boron delivery for BNCT. The low‐level incidental radiation generated during BNCT activate a RecA‐driven circuit to induce CXCL10, while radiation‐enhanced bacterial colonization triggers in situ vaccination and systemic antitumor immunity.

During pancreatitis, IL‐1α is released from necrotic acinar cells. In response to IL‐1α, pancreatic fibroblasts release chemokines and cytokines that regulate the recruitment of immune cells to the damaged organ. Furthermore, IL‐1α primes fibroblasts, resulting in increased tissue fibrosis during chronic pancreatitis.

A Conserved Isoleucine Gates the Diffusion of CO and O2 to the Active Site of NiFe CO‐Dehydrogenase
A combination of protein film electrochemistry and site‐directed mutagenesis shows that isoleucine 563 (numbering of Thermococcus sp. AM4) gates the arrival of both CO and O2 to the active site of the nickel‐iron CO dehydrogenases. Mutations at this position increase the resistance to O2 at the cost of a slower reaction with CO.

Biotransformation of pertechnetate by Clostridia
Clostridia are strict anaerobic, spore-forming, fermentative bacteria commonly present in soils, sediments, and wastes; and, they play a major role in the decomposition of a wide variety of organic compounds.

Commensal Clostridia: leading players in the maintenance of gut homeostasis [PDF]
The gastrointestinal tract is a complex and dynamic network where an intricate and mutualistic symbiosis modulates the relationship between the host and the microbiota in order to establish and ensure gut homeostasis. Commensal Clostridia consist of gram-

Diabetes‐associated dysbiosis is accompanied by reduced Clostridium abundance, impaired microbial tryptophan metabolism, and lower circulating indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA). Exogenous IPA improves trabecular microarchitecture and bone formation and restores Nrf2‐associated antioxidant signaling in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, limiting iron ...
