Genome of a chronic osteitis-causing Clostridium tetani [PDF]
We sequenced the genome of a Clostridium tetani strain that caused chronic tibial osteitis without any clinical sign of tetanus in a 26-year-old man previously vaccinated against this disease.

Tetanus in Animals — Summary of Knowledge [PDF]
Tetanus is a neurologic non-transmissible disease (often fatal) of humans and other animals with a worldwide occurrence. Clostridium tetani is the spore producing bacillus which causes the bacterial disease.

Uncommon intraoral source of generalized tetanus: Case report and review of intensive care strategies [PDF]
Introduction: Tetanus is an acute disease caused by the tetanospasmin toxin produced by Clostridium tetani, with a high mortality particularly in developing countries.

Clostridium tetani bacteraemia [PDF]
Tetanus is a neuromuscular disease in which Clostridium tetani exotoxin (tetanospasmin) produces muscle spasms, incapacitating its host. To our knowledge, C. tetani bacteraemia has never been reported in the literature. The ideal management of this entity remains unresolved given that there is no literature to guide the therapy.

Genomics of Clostridium tetani [PDF]
Genomic information about Clostridium tetani, the causative agent of the tetanus disease, is scarce. The genome of strain E88, a strain used in vaccine production, was sequenced about 10 years ago. One additional genome (strain 12124569) has recently been released. Here we report three new genomes of C.

Microwave assisted synthesis of novel 4h-chromene derivatives bearing phenoxypyrazole and their antimicrobial activity assess [PDF]
A new series of 4H-chromene derivatives 4(a-p) bearing 5-phenoxypyrazole nucleus has been synthesized under microwave irradiation by reaction of 5-phenoxypyrazole-4-carbaldehyde 1(a-h), malononitrile 2 and compounds (Cyclohexanedione, Dimedon) 3(a-b ...

Clinical Profile, Management and Outcome in Paediatric Patients with Tetanus: A Case Series [PDF]
Tetanus is an acute infectious disease, caused by spores of the bacterium Clostridium tetani. The spores are found everywhere in the environment, particularly in soil, ash, intestinal tracts/faeces of animals and humans, on the surfaces of skin and rusty

Tetanus as Cause of Mass Die-off of Captive Japanese Macaques, Japan, 2008
In 2008 in Japan, 15/60 captive Japanese macaques died. Clostridium tetani was isolated from 1 monkey, and 11 had tetanus-specific symptoms. We conclude the outbreak resulted from severe environmental C. tetani contamination.

Structural and functional analysis of hypothetical and conserved proteins of Clostridium tetani
Summary: The progress in biological technologies has led to rapid accumulation of microbial genomic sequences with a vast number of uncharacterized genes. Proteins encoded by these genes are usually uncharacterized, hypothetical, and/or conserved.
