H-RAN: An Approach Toward Cloud-RAN Load Balancing
2018 International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT), 2018The centralized cloud radio access network (C-RAN), change the BS architecture to a large extent, in term of associated cost and coverage. The main limitations of C-RAN architecture is that it has a centralized processing unit, which increases the network latency by increasing the service waiting time. The proposed Heterogeneous Radio Access Network (H-

Cognitive algorithms for LTE cloud-RAN
2016 8th International Conference on Communication Systems and Networks (COMSNETS), 2016In order to maximize the overall system throughput and cope with increasing user density and traffic distribution as also limited spectrum availability in dense urban scenario, next generation small cell networks need to be equipped with dynamic spectrum management schemes through centralized or distributed co-ordination approach.

Processing Time Evaluation and Prediction in Cloud-RAN [PDF]
Cloud RAN (C-RAN) is a very promising architecture for future mobile network deployment, where the cloud-centric approach is useful in improving total processing load. In this context, radio and baseband network functions processing pose interesting problems that we try to expose and solve in this paper.

Fully distributed scheduling in cloud-RAN systems
2016 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2016Cloud Radio Access Networks (C-RAN) promise to leverage cloud computing capabilities for enhancing the quality and coverage of next generation 5G networks. 5G networks shall witness an increasing density of users and access points, very small latencies, more bandwidth resources, and the use of virtualized hardware for baseband processing.

Locally Orthogonal Training Design in Cloud-RANs
2016 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2016We consider training-based channel estimation for cloud radio access networks (CRANs), in which a large amount of remote radio heads (RRHs) and users are randomly scattered over a certain service area. In this model, assigning orthogonal training sequences to all users, if possible, will cause a substantial overhead to the overall network.

Cloud-RAN Modeling Based on Parallel Processing
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2018We consider in this paper the implementation of a cloud radio access network (C-RAN) on a centralized multi-core system supporting the base band processing of several distributed antennas. We present a parallel processing model based on both functional and data decomposition of virtualized base band unit (BBU) functions in order to reduce their runtime.
