TLR4 and NLRP3 Caspase 1- IL-1β- Axis are not Involved in Colon Ascendens Stent Peritonitis (Casp)-Associated Heart Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Hemodynamic collapse and myocardial dysfunction are among the major causes ofdeath in severe sepsis. The purpose of this study was to assess the role played by TLR4and by the NLRP3 inflammasome in the cardiac dysfunction that occurs after ...

RIPK1 Drives JAK1‐STAT3 Signaling to Promote CXCL1‐Mediated Neutrophil Recruitment in Sepsis‐Induced Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article examines the central role of RIPK1 in the pathogenesis of sepsis‐induced lung injury. It elucidates how RIPK1 initiates an inflammatory cascade by activating JAK1‐STAT3 signaling, leading to CXCL1‐mediated neutrophil infiltration. Importantly, it demonstrates that pharmacological inhibition of RIPK1 effectively attenuates inflammation and ...

TIGIT regulates CD4+ T cell immunity against polymicrobial sepsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundSepsis is one of the major causes of death and increased health care burden in modern intensive care units. Immune checkpoints have been prompted to be key modulators of T cell activation, T cell tolerance and T cell exhaustion.

Quantitative Analysis of the Chloroplast Molecular Chaperone ClpC/Hsp93 in Arabidopsis Reveals New Insights into Its Localization, Interaction with the Clp Proteolytic Core, and Functional Importance*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2014
Background: ClpC/Hsp93 is a chloroplast molecular chaperone whose function is essential for plant viability. Results: Chloroplast ClpC localized in both the stromal and envelope-membrane fractions associates with the Clp proteolytic core.

Towards testing concurrent objects in CLP [PDF]

open access: yesLeibniz International Proceedings in Informatics, LIPIcs, 2012
Testing is a vital part of the software development process. It is even more so in the context of concurrent languages, since due to undesired task interleavings and to unexpected behaviours of the underlying task scheduler, errors can go easily undetected.

SemiLT: A Multianchor Transfer Learning Method for Cross‐Modality Cell Label Annotation from scRNA‐seq to scATAC‐seq

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multianchor transfer learning method, SemiLT, enables accurate cell label annotation in sparse scATAC‐seq data by leveraging well‐annotated scRNA‐seq references. By addressing temporal discrepancies between modalities, SemiLT improves rare cell type identification and batch correction.

Logic Programming Approaches for Representing and Solving Constraint Satisfaction Problems: A Comparison

open access: yes, 2000
Many logic programming based approaches can be used to describe and solve combinatorial search problems. On the one hand there is constraint logic programming which computes a solution as an answer substitution to a query containing the variables of the ...

Enhancing the β‐Oxidation‐Like Pathway for the Optimal Production of the Immunosuppressant Mycophenolic Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The most elaborate known example of β‐oxidation‐like pathway recruitment in fungi is reported, involving a 10‐step oxidative chain‐shortening cascade catalyzed by five dedicated enzymes to generate the pharmacophore of mycophenolic acid (MPA)—a novel clinical immunosuppressant. Our findings illustrate how nature repurposes catabolic enzymes for complex
