Review of recent trends of advancements in multilevel inverter topologies with reduced power switches and control techniques

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, EarlyView.
Some of the topologies with a fewer number of power switches are reviewed and scrutinized. An extensive analysis of the topologies, control strategy and applications are presented here, suggesting suitable multilevel inverter solutions to the known industrial application or new research.

Deadlock-Guided Testing in CLP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Static deadlock analyzers might be able to verify the absence of deadlock. However, they are usually not able to detect its presence. Also, when they detect a potential deadlock cycle, they provide little (or even no) information on their output. Due to the complex flow of concurrent programs, the user might not be able to find the source of the ...

Modelling migratory waterfowl stopover habitat while accounting for ephemeral environmental conditions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, EarlyView.
We demonstrated the potential of phenological synchronization to estimate fine‐scale ephemeral environmental conditions crucial for migratory species. Modelled habitats revealed key stopover sites in both natural and agricultural landscapes. The maps showed gaps in the protected area network of Eurasian grasslands, especially in agriculture.

A Rare Hematopoietic Stem Cell‐Derived Megakaryocyte Progenitor Accumulates via Enhanced Survival and Contributes to Exacerbated Thrombopoiesis Upon Aging

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Manso et al. developed strategies for isolating and testing the functional mechanisms regulating age‐specific megakaryocyte progenitors derived from hematopoietic stem cells. ABSTRACT Distinct routes of cellular production from hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) have defined our current view of hematopoiesis.

Global anaesthesia practice using inguinal hernia surgery as a tracer condition: a secondary analysis of an international prospective cohort study

open access: yesAnaesthesia, EarlyView.
Summary Introduction Restoration of surgical capacity is essential to post‐COVID‐19 recovery. This study explored the use and safety of anaesthesia options for inguinal hernia surgery, a common tracer condition, to describe current global practice and highlight opportunities to build the capacity of health systems.
