A preliminary study on the feeding regime of European pilchard (Sardina pilchardus Walbaum 1792) in Izmir Bay, Turkey, Eastern Aegean Sea [PDF]
The gut contents of Sardina pilchardus specimens captured in Izmir Bay were examined in order to determine their feeding regimes. Of the 365 stomachs examined, 321 (87.95%) contained food and 44 (12.05%) were empty. Analysis of gut contents verified that

Microsatellite markers for Amazon pellona Pellona castelnaeana (Clupeiformes: Pristigasteridae).
The Amazon pellona is one of the few species of Pristigasteridae with recognized commercial value in the Amazon. We isolated 24 and characterized 8 microsatellite loci for this species. The number of alleles ranges from 2-8 per locus. Observed heterozygosities ranged from 0.052-0.823, while expected heterozygosities from 0.052-0.836.

Phosphoglucose isomerase gene duplication in the bony fishes: an evolutionary history. [PDF]
Electrophoretic patterns of phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) in bony fishes provide strong evidence for a model of genetic control by two independent structural gene loci, most likely resulting from a gene duplication.
