Cluster validity index for fuzzy clustering
A new cluster validation index is presented which can be used to eliminate the montonically decreasing tendency when the number of clusters becomes very large and close to the number of data points. The limiting behaviour is described and numerical examples presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed cluster validity index.

Cluster validity indices for automatic clustering: A comprehensive review
The Cluster Validity Index is an integral part of clustering algorithms. It evaluates inter-cluster separation and intra-cluster cohesion of candidate clusters to determine the quality of potential solutions.

Automatic Clustering Using Multi-objective Particle Swarm and Simulated Annealing.
This paper puts forward a new automatic clustering algorithm based on Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization and Simulated Annealing, "MOPSOSA". The proposed algorithm is capable of automatic clustering which is appropriate for partitioning datasets

Possibilistic and fuzzy clustering methods for robust analysis of non-precise data [PDF]
This work focuses on robust clustering of data affected by imprecision. The imprecision is managed in terms of fuzzy sets. The clustering process is based on the fuzzy and possibilistic approaches.

A New Cluster Validity Index Based on Local Density of Data Points
Multiple cluster validity indices (CVIs) have been introduced for diverse applications. In practice, clusters exhibit varying shapes, sizes, densities, and closely spaced centers, which are typically unknown beforehand.

A New Validity Index Based on Fuzzy Energy and Fuzzy Entropy Measures in Fuzzy Clustering Problems
Two well-known drawbacks in fuzzy clustering are the requirement of assigning in advance the number of clusters and random initialization of cluster centers.

Clustering of Wind Power Patterns Based on Partitional and Swarm Algorithms
Wind power pattern clustering can potentially supply information about the effect of incorporating wind farms in smart electrical grid without in-depth analysis and studies of lengthy data.

An automatic density peaks clustering based on a density-distance clustering index
The density peaks clustering (DPC) algorithm plays an important role in data mining by quickly identifying cluster centers using decision graphs to identify arbitrary clusters. However, the decision graph introduces uncertainty in determining the cluster
