Clustering Transactional Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper we present a partitioning method capable to manage transactions, namelyt uples of variable size of categorical data. We adapt the standard definition of mathematical distance used in the KMeans algorithm to represent dissimilarityam ong transactions, and redefine the notion of cluster centroid.

Distributed data cache designs for clustered VLIW processors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Wire delays are a major concern for current and forthcoming processors. One approach to deal with this problem is to divide the processor into semi-independent units referred to as clusters.

Data clustering

open access: yesACM Computing Surveys, 1999
Clustering is the unsupervised classification of patterns (observations, data items, or feature vectors) into groups (clusters). The clustering problem has been addressed in many contexts and by researchers in many disciplines; this reflects its broad appeal and usefulness as one of the steps in exploratory data analysis.

Variable-based multi-module data caches for clustered VLIW processors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Memory structures consume an important fraction of the total processor energy. One solution to reduce the energy consumed by cache memories consists of reducing their supply voltage and/or increase their threshold voltage at an expense in access time. We

Constraining PERMANOVA and LDM to within-set comparisons by projection improves the efficiency of analyses of matched sets of microbiome data

open access: yesMicrobiome, 2021
Background Matched-set data arise frequently in microbiome studies. For example, we may collect pre- and post-treatment samples from a set of individuals, or use important confounding variables to match data from case participants to one or more control ...

Clustering spatial transcriptomics data

open access: yesBioinformatics, 2021
AbstractMotivationRecent advancements in fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques enable them to concurrently obtain information on the location and gene expression of single cells. A key question in the initial analysis of such spatial transcriptomics data is the assignment of cell types.
