Robust Inference with Clustered Data [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we survey methods to control for regression model error that is correlated within groups or clusters, but is uncorrelated across groups or clusters.

Testing Informativeness of Covariate-Induced Group Sizes in Clustered Data

open access: yesMathematics
Clustered data are a special type of correlated data where units within a cluster are correlated while units between different clusters are independent. The number of units in a cluster can be associated with that cluster’s outcome.

Estimating adjusted prevalence ratio in clustered cross-sectional epidemiological data

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology, 2008
Background Many epidemiologic studies report the odds ratio as a measure of association for cross-sectional studies with common outcomes. In such cases, the prevalence ratios may not be inferred from the estimated odds ratios.

Wilcoxon Rank-Based Tests for Clustered Data with R Package clusrank

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2020
Wilcoxon rank-based tests are distribution-free alternatives to the popular two-sample and paired t tests. For independent data, they are available in several R packages such as stats and coin.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Multi-Hop Data Communication Algorithm for Clustered Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2011
Recently, continued advances in wireless communication technologies have enabled the deployment of large-scale wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A key concern in the design and development of such WSNs is energy consumption.

Subgroup Identification and Regression Analysis of Clustered and Heterogeneous Interval-Censored Data

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Clustered and heterogeneous interval-censored data occur in many fields such as medical studies. For example, in a migraine study with the Netherlands Twin Registry, the information including time to diagnosis of migraine and gender was collected for ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An Algorithm for Clustered Data Generalized Additive Modelling with S-PLUS

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2005
We present a set of functions in S-PLUS to implement the clustered data generalized additive marginal modelling (CDGAM) strategy proposed by Berhane and Tibshirani (1998).

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...
