Propensity Score Weighting for Causal Inference with Clustered Data

open access: yesJournal of Causal Inference, 2018
Propensity score weighting is a tool for causal inference to adjust for measured confounders in observational studies. In practice, data often present complex structures, such as clustering, which make propensity score modeling and estimation challenging.

Quantile regression with clustered data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We show that the quantile regression estimator is consistent and asymptotically normal when the error terms are correlated within clusters but independent across clusters.

A New Perspective on Clustered Planarity as a Combinatorial Embedding Problem

open access: yes, 2014
The clustered planarity problem (c-planarity) asks whether a hierarchically clustered graph admits a planar drawing such that the clusters can be nicely represented by regions.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

runmlwin : A Program to Run the MLwiN Multilevel Modeling Software from within Stata

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2013
We illustrate how to fit multilevel models in the MLwiN package seamlessly from within Stata using the Stata program runmlwin. We argue that using MLwiN and Stata in combination allows researchers to capitalize on the best features of both packages.

Clustered Distributed Data Storage Repairing Multiple Failures

open access: yesEntropy
A clustered distributed storage system (DSS), also called a rack-aware storage system, is a distributed storage system in which the nodes are grouped into several clusters.

Application of Mixed Linear Models in the Analysis of Road Surface Features

open access: yesLithuanian Journal of Statistics, 2015
The data were collected by researchers at the Road Research Institute, in a study investigating the impact of differentfactors on road surface strength.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Status Data and Communication Aspects in Dynamically Clustered Network-on-Chip Monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2012
Monitoring and diagnostic systems are required in modern Network-on-Chip implementations to assure high performance and reliability. A dynamically clustered NoC monitoring structure for traffic and fault monitoring is presented.
